Term 6

Term 6

Topic:

This term, our topic will be 'Hola Mexico'!

So far, Lime have been archaeologists and historians, taking a close look at different Mayan artefacts and drawing parallels to modern day objects.

In D & T, we have been working hard to design and make our very own Calaveras, or Sugar Skulls, for the Dia De Los Muertos (Day of the Dead) festival!

English:

Year 6 have been very busy in our English lessons this term.

We have researched the Mexican Day of the Dead festival, collected information and created some excellent non-chronological reports all about the celebration.

We have also used our research to make some great leaflets, encouraging and persuading others to come and join in with the festival!

Maths:

In maths, year 6 have taken a closer look at shapes - focusing on circles.
We have primarily focused on calculating the diameter and radius of different size circles, and have used this information to help us calculate the circumference of the circles.

Lime have also thoroughly enjoyed using different sets of data to create their very own pie charts!
