Come and Tell Me A Story!

This term we are exploring stories and traditional tales!

What a great start to our topic! For our half term homework, we made models based on our favourite stories.

We have enjoyed being back in class with our friends :-)

This week in Literacy we have been exploring the story of Jack and the Beanstalk! 

 

We discovered a beanstalk had grown in our class! We then created our own beastalks an thought about what we would love to find at the top of them!

 

Millie- "A unicorn!"

Dominik- "Spiderman!"

Rosie- "Simon and Simone!"

Miss Dines- "A world made of chocolate and ice cream!"

 

 

Look at us retelling the story of Jack and the Beanstalk using puppets! We performed in small groups to the rest of the class! WELL DONE ELM CLASS!

 

 

 

In Maths this week, we have been looking at ways to record our mathematical findings! Elm class love exploring addition number sentences and recording them in a part, part, whole model. These children all choose to independently explore Maths during their free flow time- such superstars!

We have begun to learn about Pancake Day!

This week we are learning about Goldilocks and the Three Bears!

This week we are learning about The Three Little Pigs!

Happy St Patrick's Day! This week we learnt all about the celebration of St Patrick's Day! We designed our own irish dancing dresses and Miss Dines even taught us some Irish Dancing!

We are learning about The Gingerbread Man!

RUN, RUN, AS FAST AS YOU CAN, YOU CAN'T CATCH ME I'M THE GINGERBREAD MAN!

 

This week Elm class have loved exploring the traditional tale of The Gingerbread Man. We learnt all about instructional writing and explored lots of yummy recipes books! We found a Gingerbread Man recipe! We decided to make our own. When we arrived back in our classroom on Thursday.. the Gingerbread Men were GONE!
