Term 1- Childhood
The children have had a fun first week back to school and in Year 1. They have all settled well and worked hard with their independent jobs.
In Maths we have been working with numbers 1-10. We have been looking at different ways to represent a number such as writing the number as a word, using the tens frame and using objects.
In our RE lessons we have been talking all about Christianity. We have been discussing the word 'Creation' and what it means. We read a story which told us all about how God created the world and it explained the order that parts of the world were created. The children worked in groups to order the creation story.
We used junk modelling to build mini bus shelters in our DT lesson.
In our Art lessons we learned how to do the running stitch.
In our DT lesson we made play dens as our topic is all about shelters.
In our Art lessons we have been learning all about portraits. Today we created our own version of a famous portrait. We did a fantastic job!
In our science lesson this week we have been learning all about our five senses. We used our senses to guess what different things were.
In our art lesson this week we use folding and rolling to mix primary colours.
