Scented Garden Summer 2

This term we will be learning about plants. We will learn about Vincent Van Gogh and will paint our own versions of his famous painting ‘Sunflowers’. Our topic will start with learning about the carnivorous plant the Venus Fly Trap!

Over the next few weeks we will be conducting a science experiment to investigate what seeds need to grow. One set of cress seeds will be in a drawer in the dark, they will have water but no light. The second set will be on the windowsill and have light but no water. The third set will be on the windowsill and have light and water. The fourth set will be in the fridge with no warmth or light. We will monitor the growth of the seeds to see what happens.

This week we have started our Van Gogh Sunflower art project, we are really pleased with our pictures so far. We sketched using pencil and have started to add colour using oil pastels.
