Term 1- Dinosaurs

Our first topic this year is Dinosaur Planet.

We will be writing dinosaur descriptions using some exciting adjectives to describe them, this will make our descriptions more interesting. We will then use our knowledge of adjectives and dinosaurs to invent and describe our own dinosaur. We will learn about a famous palaeontologist and use this to write a fact file about her.

In maths we will be focusing on number to begin with ordering and representing numbers as well as finding one more and one less. We will then move onto addition and subtraction and building our knowledge on these basic operations.

Science and Topic lessons are planned to build on our learnt knowledge about dinosaurs and we will be looking at dinosaur teeth, what different dinosaurs eat, we will also be looking at animals and what is needed for them to survive. In topic we will be thinking about what the landscapes were like when dinosaurs were roaming the Earth. We will then use this knowledge to compare how the Earth is today compared to millions of years ago.

Our first RE topic is Christianity and we will look at how Christians believe the Earth was created and how we can look after it.
