Autumn 1- Land Ahoy
To start off our topic, we created these amazing pirate hats and swords. We all enjoyed dressing up as pirates!
In our English lessons last week we started writing a setting description. To help us, we took part in a drama activity called a Guided Tour where we imagined being at our setting of a pirate ship. We used all of our senses to help us think of some great ideas.
In our English lesson today we had a surprise delivery. All of the children were very excited to see a treasure chest in the classroom and we have enjoyed looking at the objects and guessing what they might be used for. Throughout the week we will be finding out more about who the treasure chest belongs to.
In our Science lesson today we have been looking at whether different materials float or sink. Ask the children in Holly class to share what we found.
