  • Art and Music at ES

    Wed 16 Sep 2015

We are looking to further extend our provision for the Arts this year, to provide as many opportunities as we can for the children to enjoy.

We will be working with local artist, Carole Miles, who will be visiting all classes across the school to lead art projects linked to topics.  Carole will also be supporting with assisting our teaching staff in developing their skills and providing additional extra-curricular opportunities for some of our talented young artists.

Additional to the music provision we have had in place, we are also extending individual tuition opportunities for children to learn a string or woodwind instrument and will also be offering piano lessons later in the year.  All lessons are subsidised, with the aim being to ensure that any child who shows an interest, is able to access.

Finally, Mr Spinner, from NMPAT, will be launching our new school orchestra this year, to enable our individual musicians to come together and work on performance pieces.

If you have any queries about any of the above, please speak to Miss Sutton.

  • Year 1 Outside Area

    Tue 08 Sep 2015

As well as having new classrooms this year, our Year 1 children now have a fabulous outside area to work and play in.

Included in the outside area are a climbing frame, an interactive water feature and a large covered activity area.

The area has been designed to enable the Year 1 teachers to plan exciting, interactive activities, which follow on from the provision from the Early Years Foundation Stage.

  • Parentview Request

    Tue 08 Sep 2015

Staff and governors very much appreciate the support we receive from parents for the work we do in school.  Over the course of the academic year, we have used various ways to get your views on what we are doing well and any suggestions for improvements.

As parents, one way of telling us what you think of our school is to log on to 'Parentview' on the Ofsted website at www.ofsted.gov.uk

Please do, if you are able, take a few minutes to fill in a questionnaire, if you have not done so this academic year so far.

  • New Build Updates

    Tue 08 Sep 2015

We are very excited to finally be able to move all of our Key Stage 2 children into their classrooms in our new building on the first day back of the new school year.

The classrooms in the building are looking fabulous, with newly installed teaching walls, state of the art interactive whiteboards and modern, colourful furniture.

Staff have worked incredibly hard over the holidays to ensure that, despite the large amount of building work taking place on the site, the school looks fantastic is is fully ready for the arrival of our children.

We are currently organising the official opening of the building and the launch of a competition to name the new building. More information will follow shortly.
