Summer 2- Moon Zoom
Our final term of Year One!
Our last topic is called Moon Zoom.
The children were given homework during the half term to make something that links to our new topic.

In English we have been reading the story Beegu.
We are changing the story so we have all thought of a new alien character. We designed it and labelled it using adjectives and then we wrote a character description using our adjectives.

The children created their own Space acrostic poems.

In our Science lessons we have been growing our own beans and observing them each day.

In our Topic lessons we designed our own rockets and chose recycled materials we could use to make it.

In our final week of Year 1 we have been taking part in lots of fun group activities.
Egg drop- We worked together to plan something that we could make to protect an egg when it is dropped from a height. We looked at different materials and had to decide which ones we think would be best.
We dropped our designs from a small height however, the eggs didn’t crack so we decided to drop them from somewhere higher. Most groups eggs didn’t break!
