Spring 1- Towers, Tunnels and Turrets!
Happy new year, we hope you had a lovely break! We are very excited to hear all about your holidays.
This half term our topic is 'Towers, Tunnels and Turrets'. We will be learning all about Castles, who lives in them and why they are important. Once we know all about castles, we will be writing a non-chronological report in our English lessons. We will also be reading a lovely book called 'The Tunnel'. We will be making predictions and thinking about the characters in the story. In our topic lessons we will be learning about Princess Diana and the history of Althorp House and how this links to our school. In our Science lesson we have planned and carried out an investigation for which biscuit will make the best biscuit bridge. We looked at four biscuits and tested them with different weights to see which would be the strongest and the weakest. Ask a member of Holly class what we found!
