Term 6- Fun in the Sun!

Our topic this term is called 'Fun in the Sun!' This is our last topic of the year.. let's make it a FUN one!

We have had a great start to our new topic. We have started off by learning about World Ocean Day on 8th June!

Under the Sea!

This week in Literacy we have been exploring the book 'The Rainbow Fish' by Marcus Pfister.

The Rainbow Fish came to visit! We 'Hot Seated' the Rainbow Fish and told her that she must start sharing with her friends! She was very rude to us! :( We must teach her how to be a kind friend.

We have been writing instructions this week on 'How to be a Good Friend'.

We have been learning about Pirates!

This week we have been exploring the story 'Pirates Love Underpants!' SOMEONE STOLE OUR CLASS UNDERPANTS! Captain Pirate Blackbeard wrote a letter to us claiming to be the culprit! He came to speak to us this week. He made us walk the plank!

ELM CLASS HAS GOT TALENT- Auditions

I am thinking of a shape...

The children have been writing shape riddles! How many sides does your shape have? Is it 2D or 3D?

Visiting the school library is lots of fun. We choose a book to take home and explore the non-fiction and fiction shelves!

Following the children's interests is really important in Reception. Here are some of the children taking the lead in their learning! Some children chose to explore addition with Numicon. Others wanted to use scissors to tidy up the outside area garden. It has been lovely to see the children so independent. Well done Elm class!

We have been learning about Mermaids this week! We have found a scale in the classroom! I wonder what we will find next...?

What a busy week we are having so far! The Mermaid has left us all a shiny scale! We have been writing messages to her.

We jumped on an aeroplane today! Where did we go? What did we see?

We have been writing sentences or words about our friends!

Earl Spencer's Got Talent! Well done to our fabulous EYFS acts! See below for the videos!

ESP Talent Show!

Our last merit assembly- and the merit goes to..............EVERYONE! What a pleasure it has been to teach you this year, Elm Class.
