Spring 2- Splendid Skies

Our new topic for Term 4 is called Splendid Skies.

We will be learning all about different weather types and looking at the seasons. In English we will be looking at a book called Bog Baby. We will be writing instructions and a letter and at the end of the term we will have a go at writing our own story.

In English we have been looking at the story Bog Baby. We are going to write instructions about how to catch a Bog Baby. Before we do that we need to learn our instructions by reading a story map and using actions to help us.

As it is World Book Day, the children in school have been taking part in live sessions with some authors.

On Wednesday 3rd March we watched Michelle Robinson and Tom Knight. We listened to their story The Jelly had a Wobble and Tom taught us how to draw like he does in their stories.

World Book Day!

We took part in a live drawing session with the author Nicola Slater. She taught us how to draw the squirrel and bird from the story The Leaf Thief.

Here’s what some of the children at school dressed up as for World Book Day.

We all had lots of fun on our first day back after a few months off.

We spent the day doing lots of craft activities based around our topic. The children made weather charts, Kites and drew a weather picture using oil pastels.
