Term 5: Animals

In the morning year 2 went out for a tree hunt where we identified lots of different types of leaves.

We found birch, oak, elder, holly and ash leaves. Do you remember anymore we found?

Here are some pictures of our hunt.

Well done Cherry class for our fantastic attendance this week!

We need to keep it up.

The children in Cherry class enjoy reading! Where is your favourite place to read?

Today we made clay models of hedgehogs. We were very skillful in adding extra detail to our models.

Pictures will be uploaded shortly.

During parents' morning today we completed the matchstick challenge.

How many polygons can you make using a pile of matchsticks?

In numeracy today we used our knowledge of arrays to solve a problem. We are beginning to think and record our ideas in a systematic way.

We have been working in groups to solve various maths puzzles! Ask a year 2 to find out more!

Below is our class working super hard and recording our ideas on large whiteboards.

Below is a link about nocturnal animals that we have been learning during our lessons. Please take a look to learn interesting facts about these animals.

Welcome to term 5! This is a very busy term as we will be doing our SATs. This term we will be learning about various types of animals including Australian, nocturnal and reptiles.
