Term 3: Gods and Mortals

Welcome back to the new term! We hope you had a lovely Christmas and New year.

This term our topic is Gods and Mortals.

This week in English we have been focussing on a Greek myth called Daedalus and Icarus. During parent morning we made wings for the characters. Ask a child in Beech class to find out what the wings were used for in the story!

In Maths, we are working with Money. Today we explored how to make different amounts with different coins. We also thought about how to make an amount with the least coins.

In parent morning we used the Greek alphabet to write our names and messages to decode! Have a look at the pictures below and see if you can decode any of the messages written by Beech class.

We enjoyed reading our first Greek myth, Pandora's Box! We helped Pandora to solve a dilemma using our own opinions and feelings and we performed a conscience alley. Below are some pictures from this.
Our topic for science this term is Rocks and Soils. To begin our topic we went on a rock hunt around the school. We found many different rocks all around us. Ask a member of Beech class to find out the names of the different rocks and their properties.
