Term 1- Dinosaurs

 

Our topic this term is Dinosaurs. In English we will be writing predictions about a dinosaur egg, using talk for writing techniques to write a Dinosaur fact file and we will finish the term with writing our own stories. 

 

We will be recapping our phase 3 sounds during phonics.

 

In Maths we will be focusing on numbers and ordering, finding one more and one less than a given number, addition and subtraction with 20 as well as beginning to look at measuring and recording length.

 

Our science focus will be animals including humans where we will be labeling different parts of the human body, we will then look at animals and try to identify whether they were carnivores, herbivores or omnivores. We will also look at what animals need to survive.

 

Finally in RE we will be learning about Christianity and the Creation Story.

We learnt about pitch in music this week, we listened to a piece of music and had to show the pitch with action.

Today we were looking at animal droppings to investigate whether they belonged to a carnivore, herbivore or omnivore. We had to look carefully to see what we could see in them.
