We hope you all had a lovely holiday and are now ready for our last term together!
Our topic this term is paws, claws and whiskers. We will be looking at the story of Handa's Surprise in English making predictions, writing letters and creating a non chronological report about Africa.
In maths we will be recapping areas that we have learnt this year to ensure you are all secure on identifying one more and one less, solving multiplication and division problems and problems involving money, Towards the end of the term we will be securing numbers to and beyond 100 and ensuring we know our number bonds to 20.
Our science lessons will focus on animals and their young, basic needs of an animal as well as looking at camouflage and habitats and finally food chains. In topic we will be looking at the artist Henri Rousseau and trying to recreate some of his work.
Finally we have an exciting trip planned, look out for the letter home.
Performance poetry
Last week Chestnut class performed their poems to the rest of the class. They all spoke beautifully and even added actions to make the poem come to life. We were proud of them for all getting up even if they were a bit nervous.
Have a look at a couple of the videos below.
Fun Run
We participated in the BHF fun run to raise money for their charity. The whole class had to run 4 laps of the field. Thank you so much for all the sponsorship money we have received, I hope the children enjoyed themselves.
