Summer 1- Enchanted Woodland

Our topic this term is called 'The Enchanted Woodland'.

As part of the children's homework during the Easter holidays, the children were asked to create anything that they thought linked with our topic 'Enchanted woodland.' We had a wide range of lovely things that the children had made.

The children really enjoyed hearing Pete read them a story.

As part of our English lessons the children have been taking part in some drama linked to the story 'The Gruffalo.' The children did some freeze frames and had to freeze into an image of either the Gruffalo or the mouse when he saw the Gruffalo.

Take a look at our pictures and see if you can guess whether they are the Gruffalo or the mouse when he saw the Gruffalo.

Sid recieved the KS1 PE certificate as he has been showing respect during PE lessons. He has been polite and showed respect towards others and understood the 'ups and downs' within the lesson.

Well done Sid!

This week the children walked into the classroom to find an exciting fairy hunt! They has some clues around the classroom and the last clue had fairy dust which led to a tiny fairy door. The children were very excited so we decided to write a recount about what happened. The children worked in pairs to draw and write a story map about what happened.

To finish off the term the children are taking part in different carousel activities each day.

On Monday 22nd the children had phonics activities. They played phonics games on the iPad, sorted lots of real and alien words, completed a tricky word word search, writing high frequency words in sentences and using magnetic letters to create words.

The children have loved making their own fairies gardens!
