Beat, Band, Boogie!
We hope you have had a lovely 2 weeks off school and are looking forward to learning about all of the exciting things we have planned for you!
This half term our topic is 'Beat, Band, Boogie!'. We will be learning all about different instruments, reading music, writing music and finding out about different types of bands. Keep an eye on this page to follow all of the fun things we get up to this half term!
This week we kicked off our topic by learning a poem called 'The Band'. We spoke about the rhythm in the poem, learnt it and then came up with some of our own actions.
This week in maths Cherry class have been learning all about fractions! We have been learning about numerators, denominators and how to solve problems involving fractions. Here are some pictures of us solving problems using physical objects!
This week was well being week. We completed lots of fun activities in class including mindfulness colouring, yoga, guided meditation and peer massage. We had an extremely relaxing day!
This week we made our own musical instruments - drum shakers! We chose what materials we were going to make our drums out of thinking about the properties of materials. After we made our drums (And enjoyed playing with them!) we wrote instructions on how to make them. If you would like to know how to make a drum then just ask a member of Cherry Class for their instructions!
