Billionaire Boy competition

Well done to all the children who entered the book cover and blurb competition, there were over one hundred entries in total, which made finding ten winners extremely difficult!

However after a lot of deliberation the winners of the competition are shown below.

All these lucky winners will be visiting The Derngate theatre on Friday 18th October along with myself.

As there have been so many fantastic entries, I have decided that I’m going to award a book of the children’s choice to the runner ups.  Keep your eyes peeled for these children.

Look out for the Key Stage one reading competition

Please remember to bring your reading and library books into school every day.  You don't know when you might need it!

Competition time!

We have a very exciting competition for our Key Stage Two children.  I would like you to create a front cover and write the blurb for a new fantasy book.  I will be picking ten lucky winners, who will be taken to The Derngate Theatre to watch Billionaire Boy!

Drop everything and read.

During the week beginning 30th September every child in the school will be asked to stop what they are doing and read silently for ten minutes.  The aim of this is to encourage children to have a greater love of reading for pleasure.

Welcome back to the school year.  I hope you all had a restful summer and plenty of time to read your favourite books.
