Autumn Term - Through the ages

Our driver topic this term is History, where we will be studying - Through the Ages, which looks at Prehistory in Britain.  The children will learn that this started c750,000 BC, when several species of humans arrived from Europe. The children will learn that prehistory is divided into three main periods, the Stone Age, Bronze Age and Iron Age. Each period is named after the main material used to make tools at that time.

In English this term, the children will be using The Iron Man as a vehicle text to create their own narrative and then explanation text.

In Maths, the children will be recapping the skills of place value, then moving onto addition and subtraction.

In Science, we will be learning about the skeletons of both humans and animals, learning to identify the different types of skeletons and the names of the bones.  We will also be looking at balanced diets and the importance of these.
