Welcome to Year 6 Rowan


Welcome back to Term 6 - our final term of the school year. I hope you have all had an enjoyable half term.


 We have lots of exciting things planned this term for our topic 'Frozen Kingdom'. Children will be exploring the science and history behind Antarctica and Arctic discovering the lives of the historical explorers and lives of the animals who live there. In ICT children will become 'Coding Cobras', learning how to plan and develop their own quiz’s and games using scratch.


In Literacy children will be reading, creating poetry, creating balanced, writing a narrative and newspaper reports. In Maths the children will develop their understanding of investigation plan design and deliver their own investigation.



PE for term 6 is swimming which will take place on Monday afternoons.

Please ensure that you child has a complete swimming kit for Monday's


Year 6 Homework

The children will need to read their reading books as normal.

The children will need to research ' Why is there a problem with plastic in the oceans?'

for next Tuesday.



Homework is due on Tuesday and given out on Thursday.
