This week we were looking at individual liberty as our Britain’s Value. We were thinking about if things can be repaired if they get broken, who could repair them or if they needed throwing away. It certainly got us thinking about looking after our things and taking responsibility for our belongings.
This afternoon we were given the job of identifying animal poo. We had to look closely at the droppings to see what was in them to try and identify if the animals were a carnivore, herbivore or omnivore.
We hope you all had a lovely half term.
Our topic for this term is dinosaurs.
During our English lessons we will be writing fact files about dinosaurs and using adjectives to describe pre historic settings. In science we will be looking at classifying animals and the difference between herbivores, carnivores and omnivores. In our topic sessions we will be looking at who Mary Anning was and what she did, what fossils are and how we think the dinosaurs became extinct. In maths we will be doing some place value as well as starting to look at multiplication and division.
A reminder that to get your homework and reading tick you need to have returned your homework on time and read 3 times at home. Please make sure your reading record is signed 3x a week.
Don't forget you can be practicing what we have learnt in phonics using the phonics play website, https://www.phonicsplay.co.uk/Phase5Menu.htm
We look forward to another fantastic term together.
