Welcome to Willow Class

To end our topic 'Road Trip USA' we had our very own America day! We enjoyed lots of American themed crafts, sport and food tasting in the afternoon! What a fantastic day!

We have been learning about New York. The children created their own Adverts to Persuade tourists to visit New York! Here are some of the photos!

Buckle up, sunglasses on - we're going on a road trip across the USA! We will be finding out about many of the different states, Exploring the many tourist attractions of New York, discovering the Native American Dream and writing our own persuasive Tourist articles! What a great topic to end the year!

To end our fabulous topic 'The Blue Abyss' we designed, made and analysed our own paper plate sea creatures. The children made some fantastic designs!

Well done to all the children who attended the Everdon Residential trip this week. Your behaviour was fantastic! We all had so much fun walking through the countryside, rolling down hills, building dens, reading maps, using compasses, exploring the wildlife and toasting marshmallows on the camp fire! Here are just some of the photos of the trip! Enjoy!

How long will it take for our pet Triop to hatch? We are still waiting in anticipation!

Well done to all our young scientists for a fantastic day learning all about the Digestive System!

Year 4's Roman Topic homework was fantastic! They all got a prize, stickers and house points for their hard work! Well done Year 4!

Look at our Roman Art work! We have been very busy this term designing and making our own shields, learning about Roman Mosaics and making our own and drawing our own Roman Amphoras! We even made some Roman bangles!

Look at some of the fantastic photos of our Roman Workshop day!

Today Mrs Lack joined Year 4 to lead a session of bingo as a special treat! The class had a fantastic time and several children won prizes too!

Remember children...Your Rainforest Projects are due in any time from Monday onwards! Both myself and Mrs Lleshi can't wait to see what you have created! Whether it be a poster, a fact file, a model a painting or perhaps something else? We look forward to seeing your fantastic work!

We were very lucky to have a visit from Chris the rainforest guide, who came into school to share with us some of his rainforest creatures and talk about his experiences of life within the rainforest. We got a chance to hold many animals!

Willow Class had a fantastic afternoon of First Aid Training where they learnt how to put a patient in the recovery position and how to dress a wound properly. The children also received a certificate too!

Well done to Year 4 for their end of term Mountain projects! They were incredible!

Look what we discovered hiding beneath different materials this afternoon! We found out that a good habitat provides warmth, shelter, moisture, food and light! Cardboard made the best animal habitat. We found ladybirds, woodlice, a worm and more creepy crawlies!

Today we've had a maths puzzle morning where we have been using multiplication methods to solve problems!

In Science we have been learning all about habitats. Today we ventured outdoors to set up an experiment! We are trying to find out which material would make the best home for the surrounding mini-beasts that live there! Which material would you choose if you were a bug? cardboard, plastic, tin foil or fabric?

Year 4 have been learning lots of new songs in class and have been exploring the pulse of a piece of music! Today they split into groups and each group took it in turns to sing different phrases. They also tapped the pulse by stamping their feet and clapping their hands! Well done Year 4! What superstars!

Class  Council Meeting in Willow Class

We had an excellent first class council meeting where all the children discussed what they liked about Year 4 and any concerns or areas to improve.

Year 4 suggested that it would be nice to have some new books to read in the book corner to replace some of the old ones.

I have ordered some brand new books that shall be delivered to our reading corner soon including some new audio books that you can listen to!
