Our topic this term is Scream Machine!

Year 5 have been writing extra verses to the poem 'I wanna be a star' by Tony Mitton. The poem is very colloquial and some children said it reminded them of a rap.

Year 5 had a wonderful afternoon collecting bugs and beasts from the school grounds and pond area.

Yesterday we had so much fun learning about different insects and bugs. Most of the class had a go at holding various creatures even though some of them were very scary!

We have had an incredible delivery in Year 5 - our caterpillars have arrived!

We are excited to watch them grow and transform into big, beautiful butterflies. At the moment they are very small (approx. 8mm) but over the weekend we think they will grow bigger.

In our computing lessons this term Year 5 are developing their own computer games. We started exploring and using scratch today - it was so much fun!
