Summer Term 1- Minibeasts!

Our topic this term is....

Minibeasts!

What a brilliant first week back! We have begun our learning of Minibeasts and are excited to find out lots more!

Week one!

The weather has been lovely this week, so we took our learning outdoors! We started to search for some minibeasts in our outdoor area and enjoyed the mud kitchen! What a great start to the summer term.

Wow! Look at your fabulous spring homework models! Well done to everyone who created a model!

Week two!

This week we read the story 'The Very Hungry Caterpillar' by Eric Carle. (One of Miss Dines' favourite illustrators!) Our learning has been around the book and particularly the lifecycle of a caterpillar.

We made a class paper chain caterpillar:

In maths, we compared different sized caterpillars and used non standard and standard measurements to see how long our cube caterpillars were!

A new book for our classroom! :)

Miss Dines recently entered a competition and won a copy of 'My Colourful Chameleon'. The author, Leonie Roberts, was kind enough to sign it for us! Last term in science, we learnt about chameleons, so this is a great fiction book for our book corner!

Week 5! We have been so busy this week learning about the Royal Wedding! We have been writing lists, cards, making and labeling castles, creating bridal makeup and exploring doubling in maths!
