Victorian day!
We had a great day dressed up as victorian children. We started the day being given a victorian name, we then practised our handwriting, victorian style. We then had a go at washing clothes with a bar if soap before making our own toys.
In the afternoon we welcomed a visitor who was a victorian school master. We had to line up and pay a penny to go to school before we had a hand and shoe inspection. We then practised writing on slate boards with chalk before using a pen and ink pot. We learnt about the dunce cap and the cane and we some of us were brave enough to try them out.
We finished by playing some parlour games and with victorian toys.
We have been studying art work by James Rizzi. We then used pastels and oencils to recreate some of his work.
This week in art we have been creating 3 dimensional pictures in the style of James Rizzi.
As part of out design technology lessons this term we are learning how to prepare vegetables. Today we have been slicing, grating, peeling, mashing and shredding.
We've completed our landscape artwork in the style of James Rizzi.
This afternoon we made our own fruit salad. We started by preparing the fruit before adding in the fruit and juice of our choice.
